Who I am

My name is Luisa Golino and I would like to give you some information on my experiences and professional activities.
I was born in Siracusa, Sicily and I have a University degree in Italian Arts and Philosophy.
I taught for 20 years Italian Literature and History in various High Schools. Then I wanted to face new working experiences and do business activity, so I set up a new Public Relations society. I organized Congresses and Conventions. In this job it is important to join budget control together with the organization of time, places and people, without forgetting the protocol, the elegance and the sobriety of each detail.
For my cultural and entrepreneurial commitment the government of my city appointed me member of the Board of Directors of the Reimann Foundation: the International Institute of Historical Studies of Siracusa. Siracusa is in fact the crib of the Greek and Latin culture. For various years I kept this position.
In 1997 I moved to Reggio Emilia, the city where the Italian flag (Tricolore) was born, and back in time one of the main centres of the Resistance against the Fascist regimen. Here I cooperated with the Institute of the History of the Resistance and I started a communication company in the house services field together with two young partners, Alberto and Simone. I am a director and a communication consultant. I attended various courses organized by the Chamber of Commerce and by the Union of Cooperatives (Unione Cooperative) in business administration, marketing and communication.

In the last few years I resumed my old passion, teaching, specializing in the teaching of the Italian language and culture to foreigners. I attended the Linguistics Department at the University of Modena and I used the projects of the professors and educators of the University of Venezia, Pavia and Roma.
In these years I did more then 1500 hours of lessons for young and adults of all over the world and this is for me a wonderful job, a great human experience; many of them keep on writing me and keep in touch with me.

I have never had any doubts that the best way to learn Italian is to live in Italy, among Italians. |
