Reggio Emilia and its surroundings (with some cooking classes)
A one week program
The program is described day by day for clarity reasons, but the itineraries are not mandatory, they can be changed by mutual consent, living them with great freedom.
Note: For the summer stays: each time that we want we can go in a sport club with an open-air swimming pool, lawn and park to escape the city heat. All this at a few kilometers from the city.
Day 1: Settle down at home and welcome dinner
Day 2: Morning: Walk downtown among historic architectures, squares and alleys Evening How to prepare a risotto. Recipe description and preparation.
Day 3: Morning: Car trip on the hills of Reggio Emilia and panoramic tour of the Castles of Matilde (Matilde di Canossa) In alternative, visit of the Town of Fontanellato and of the Castle of the Dukes of San Secondo Evening: How to prepare a typical Italian pasta
Day 4: Visit the art sites and the historical center of Parma (15 minutes by train): Cathedral, San Giovanni Cloisters, Church of the Steccata Madonna, Palazzo Farnese or della Pilotta (National Gallery and private Theater of the Farnese family). Lunch in Parma. Return in the afternoon and dinner at home.
Day 5: am Courts and Cloisters. Visit of the Madonna della Ghiara Basilica and of the Magnani Palace (often hosting exhibitions) pm: Relax under the trees in the park of the swimming pool club Dinner in the pizzeria of the Club or at home.
Day 6: am: Walk in the beautiful park near home and lunch in the shade of the trees. pm: Modena (10 minutes by train): Visit of the Cathedral and of the streets downtown. Aperitif in the charming square of the Cathedral. Return home and dinner.
Day 7: Morning: Gastronomic visit at a the Parmigiano Reggiano (Parmesan Cheese) factory Evening: How to prepare the sweet-and-sour chicken and colorful vegetables
Day 8: Breakfast and departure
Note: changes in the program can be agreed on.
Meetings with family members and friends are scheduled, for friendly dinners or during the excursions, depending on the availability during those days.
Prices without lessons
The program includes Italian conversation, not work on paper.
A one week stay with visits, excursions and cooking classes
1 person: € 600,00
The price includes full board in my home. Private room and bathroom.
It does not include the tickets (transfers, museums and exhibitions), the excursions and the meals eaten out.
